Colour Guidance
Colour is beautiful, but it does not always behave the way we expect. A shade that looks rich and calm in real life can appear slightly different once a camera captures it or a screen displays it. This is why we include a colour note on our product pages. It is there so you know exactly what to expect.
Every photograph we take follows one consistent and carefully controlled method. We use daylight lighting, a fixed white balance and a neutral card that helps the camera read the yarn correctly. This creates a standard that keeps our images steady and reliable from one product to the next.
Different fibres respond to light in their own ways. Some remain very stable in most settings. Others shift gently as the light changes. Silk, for example, has a natural sheen that catches and reflects light, so it may appear brighter outdoors and softer indoors. Blends with silk or other glossy fibres show similar behaviour. Wool and cashmere are usually more even, although deeper shades can still react to the environment.
Once the images reach your device, screens add their own influence. Every device shows colour differently. Some add warmth. Some brighten everything. Others make colours look cooler. Even small settings like brightness or night mode can change how a shade appears.
What we can promise is accuracy on our side. Each colour is checked against the real yarn before we publish it. If a fibre behaves differently in various light settings, we mention it. If a shade needs clearer wording, we refine the description.
We take all product photographs in one consistent and standardised way so you always know the baseline you are looking at. If you would like to see how a colour behaves in a different type of light, you are welcome to request an extra snapshot. We provide those on request so that you can choose with confidence and clarity.
Colour may shift slightly in different lighting and across screens, but our commitment to showing it truthfully stays the same.
